    Thanks!
Fronts are Firestone F560s and the backs are Starfires by Cooper.

  3. Wheel styles definitely go with specific body styles. I am a Willys guy so am not confident commenting on Phords. I originally put 8.5x15 Appliance TT type wheels on the rear and 14x6 Appliance TTs on the front. Was never totally happy with the front TTs. When a fellow came out with aluminum Halibrand gasser front runners, it was a no-brainer. I polished the rears, put American stickers on the hub caps and voila!, perfect look. In my never to be humble opinion, Willys should NEVER have the skinny spoke Altered wheels.

  7. My 34 has 15X4 ET's [custom narrowed] in the front with 8.5X15's in the back. The 285/70 tires would probably be a little wide { 9" tread and 12" section width by 30.5" tall} for a full fendered model A but if you really wanted to run them you could run wide fenders or a shrot rear end with deeper inner wheelwells.
I ran a pair of 14X6 JAPANs on the front 'till I found the skinny 15" ETs. 34atpark2_11_20.jpg 34newtires2.jpg

  14. I’d suggest after you buy then mount on the spindle and spin the wheel. Check the run out. I had one that was way out. No receipt so had to eat it. It did however have the QC sticker on it where it cleared the inspector.

Any of them you can buy new, are a far cry from these two straight spoke styles.... 39EB6ED6-514C-406C-840B-F2C00B2C052A.jpeg 6A63EB49-5EF1-49C1-839F-5BEB112FE8E2.jpeg

Summit says out of stock don't know about Jeg's or Tire Rack. These are the new wheels with the old style machining on the lips. Not the ones shown up a few posts. Those are the ugly modern versions.

Does anyone know why they paint the spokes grey? I am guessing it's powder coat. What does the casting look like if you take that off? I want a set for a car that had them on very early in it's existence but I don't like the grey finish. And I don't like the polished ones for this car.

I think they look pretty good with the grey spokes..... 13437792346325.jpg

  27. NoboD, See mine in post 25. I use VHT Wheel Paint, graphite. VHT has multiple colors avaiable. I painted mine right out of the boxes.

If we're talking the current generation Torque Thrust wheels there is something about the pebbly finish and the shade/sheen of the paint on the spokes that misses the mark for me.
I guess having been around the old original versions might have something to do with that.

  30. The front wheels I ran first were 14X6 " and came to me really grody and discolored. I masked 'em off, slapped a coat of variprime and then a coat of stainless steel spray paint. Same with the rears.
Now my rears are not that much different than the new ET 15X4" in factory color. 34americanspaint.jpg 34americans1.jpg 34americans3_6_20.jpg 34newtires2.jpg
