Owner & driver Pee Wee Wallace from Richmond Virginia. When on to run A/FX alerted wheel base cars and continued on to blown fuel burning funny cars. Ran his own cars under the “Virginian” name and drove other owners funny cars under names “Alabamian” and “Black Stang”
Cal Niday in the D-A Lubricant #22 KK500B Offenhauser roadster at Indianapolis in 1955. Cal was from Turlock California and lost a leg in a motorcycle accident after high school. It did'nt affect his race car driving and he competed in 3 Indy 500's and was one of three drivers who ran in an Indy 500 with a prosthetic leg. The 1955 Indy 500 was his last race at Indy to compete at. He lived until 1988 when he was killed after being thrown from a Vintage Race car at Willow Springs Raceway when he had a heart attack. per Bobby
