It had either a 63 144 or a 66 200 with a cruisomatic in it. But when I got it he had a 78 302 c4 swap started.
Neat car, What are your plans with it ? How is the v8 stuffed in it, lotta motor for a little car, na need some reinforcing in key areas
Neat car. I don't know Jack about them but have read, as VP said, that it takes some strengthening to handle the V8.
I had a blue S-22 when I was about 14. Didn't know what i had till years later. Traded it for a 1964 Galaxie. Jack
My first car was a '60 Falcon, my grandfather bought it new...had a 144 with 3 speed stick...slow, but it did everything it was supposed to do, went fast enough that you could travel the highways, and got near 30 MPG on a good extended highway run, cruising with the guys on Frisay nights, and just general knocking around, was good for about 22....NEVER a burp, hiccup, or problem, was one of the most reliable cars I ever owned.....Still have it, restoration planned.....
That's a good looking ride there. I'd think you could finish that swap with the right combo of Ford parts from a few different years. I'd say that the only structure issue would be if you intend to hammer on it at every stop light. You can tear anything up if you drive it hard enough.
Plans are just a driver. Been debating the 302 swap. I've had it in and out a dozen times so far and its a fight everytime. Don't have enough of the 6 cylinder stuff to go back. If I had this 15 years ago parts would have been easier to find.
So far I only have a set of 65 mustang v8 spindles and 8" rear. From the last couple months of research mustang steering components are direct fit except the drag link. That has to come from the 64-65 comet
Say that again. 60 years old. What a great looking car . I should never have sold my '63 Falcon V8 Sprint
Back in '69 I had a metallic blue '61with black interior. Stock 6 and 3 on the tree. It was a good little car for a daily...
