I just bought a used Th350 and was told it was out of a Camaro. But the only numbers I can find on it is a large letter C and the number 3 on the bell housing and the number #137427124 that was located on the left side of the case (facing forward) I want to find out what year it is and where it was made! Any help would be great! KC
Any wires going to it? May be a TH350C which has a lock-up converter. Not of much value to the rodder/racer. IIRC, the wire is on the driver side and in a 4 pin arrangement visible from the top. Might have to power wash the case to un-earth the pin connector. Good luck.
Yea, look for a plug in connection, I can’t recall and wires to a TH 350, they were manual kickdown. But if a TH350, were there any changes that would make a difference? Just curious
There is no electrical wiring coming out of the transmission! The only wire is a thin cable on the drivers side and I think that's the manual kickdown.
there are few differences in them.....there were some made for lighter duty use, with fewer clutches. And in the later 70s, they did some upgrades to make them more reliable, and cheaper to manufacture. And as mentioned, there are some variations such as the 350C lockup which has an O ring on the end of the input shaft, and the 250, which has a bigger 2nd band, and no 2nd clutch. It has a telltale band adjusting screw and lock nut.
If 137 is a partial VIN then it's a Chevy car, 1973, built in Lordstown, which made full size cars. Is that enough info?
