Just picked up this 1933/34 Australian accessory firewall toolbox. Got it from Canada on their version of Craigslist “Kijiji”

Making a set of A-pillar/cowl “feet” for a fellow H.A.M.B’er in Sweden

Getting all the angles right! I’ll be able to index the A-pillar wood attachment before I bend it...should be a drop fit for original

  4. Thanks for posting all the little pieces too. Makes me think I'll be able to repair mine, "baby steps" you know.

  5. What an amazing build. Please keep up the great updates. I really like all the homemade dies you are creating.

Finally got the panel below the decklid. The triangular gussets are going to need some love to get the bottom to fit to the floor. I had to do some work on the set I used on my three window with an original floor. I’ll probably just make some new ones.

Thanks...it’s going pretty slow. I’ve been doing a bunch of side projects to pay for it, but I have set a goal to have this one on the road in 2021

No progress on the 34 since the holidays. I have been working on another small batch of top irons for sale and the a-pillar cowl feet for the 33 and another friends car.

One more side project and I should be back on the roadster. I have been picking up a few parts through trading recently. Got this great set of elusive Bob Drake running boards.

Starting out slow...several of these captive nuts were almost gone and a couple had been removed and hex nuts welded in place. I was able to get period correct nut keepers from a Jeep parts distributor. These are also correct for the rear fender mountings.

Sometimes I also go nuts on the shape of particular hardware like that. You found a PERFECT match. Not sure I'd go so crazy on a hidden part like those plates, but I commend your efforts. Drake's and other supplier's hardware are not a good match.

Elvis100 could you provide a part number and distributor for those?
I'd guess they would be useful for many people here.

This seems to be a common “alteration “. I’ll install the d-nuts tomorrow and still need to repair the mounting holes

I didn’t like the way the reproduction panel was sitting. It may just be the way the floor sits, but I did have the same problem with my coupe. Started making new panels, maybe I can use the reproduction ones on my next build.

My press brake is working at its limit. Used an anvil and hammer to tighten up the corners.

Bolted to the rear panel and clicoed to the floor. Dry fit the trunk panels. I’ll have to do some body work, and I might remake both of these panels
