I finally cured the roadster fever I've had for quite awhile. I have had several coupes, a sedan, and even a T bucket, but never a roadster. After looking for over a year I finally found one that suited my taste and budget. I acquired this glass bodied 32 this week in South Carolina and drove it the 300 miles back to Knoxville without the top of course, making for a perfect test drive. No trailers for me unless its broke. Its outward appearance is HAMB appropriate except for the radial tires, Some of the components violate HAMB standards but I plan to remedy that eventually. Also proud to say it has no heat, no AC, and no radio. As a year round motorcyclist my theory is that it's always roadster weather unless its snowing. Of course I still have the Y Brock coupe when I want a change of pace. Looking forward to many miles of wind in what's left of my hair.
Love it, Gary! Now you're really making me jealous. Enjoy the heck out of it. Nothing like a ride in 40 degree weather to make you feel alive or just extremely COLD!...........Don.
When I got to old to pack double on a bike anymore, I bought a roadster also and I have never regretted it once. Roadsters give you a little of the bike feel and all the fun of going all the time. I'll bet you will never regret it either so have a good time.
Thanks Don, if it gets real cold and I am itching for a roadster ride I can always utilize my heated motorcycle jacket and gloves. That would probably not be a HAMB approved tactic but at least I can drive year round.
Gary, Nice ride, similar to mine. I too use my M/C heated jacket when it gets cold, works great! Do your self a favor and wear earplugs. I used them while riding my bike even with a full face helmet, save those ears!
If you don't already have one, get one of those things the skiers call "gators". They might also be called "dickies", not sure. They keep your neck warm and can be pulled up to cover your mouth and nose as well. Anyone with a Roadster can tell you that the wind doesn't hit you in the face (unless you are very, very tall!). On the contrary, it comes around behind you and hits you in the back of your neck. A hoodie helps as well when the weather gets really cold.................Don.
Well I finally got around to getting rid of the red wheels and trim rings that the last owner ran and went back to basic black and dog dishes. Also changed the street rod steering wheel to a 4 spoke sprint car type, slowly making the roadster my own.
