I bought this 50s willys wagon and when i popped the hood this was under there. So what do i have here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
you mean, which pontiac motor is it? Looks to be pretty old, but not real old. early 60s? https://www.pontiacpower.net/numbers/engine-codes/
that will be in the for sale section!!! well maybe not yet, depends on what this motor is and if I can bring it back to life.
Congrats! You have a genuine 1961 to about 66 Pontiac engine. Should be a 389 cu in. There are stamped numbers and letters just below the passenger side head...they'll tell exactly what horsepower [most with a 4 bbl were 303 HP] and what compression ratio, what kinda Pontiac car it came in and if it originally had an automatic or stick. Type in Pontiac engine I.D. online and you should be able to I.D. this sucker.
Intake is date E of 5 and its for an afb...so I'd assume its a 1965 intake. Maybe the engine is as well?
I’d at least pull the intake and see if the moisture made it to the heads before trying to fire it off.
