Great pictures, thanks for sharing. By the looks of these pictures, Florence has certainly grown up. Back in the early seventies I used to run a beer route, Casa Grande, Coolidge & Florence, it sure didn't look like that back then. It was just a little prison town!
My first time visiting there was for this show. Show was great, food/facilities/trophies/bands/door prizes/car count/my guess 150. It was on main street downtown, in talking with a local, tourism, prisons/correctional facility, military base are their industry. Very old historic town with southwest charm.
No more snow for us. WE, like many have chosen the "SnowBird" option and Winter in Az. I've been a Wisconsin guy all my life, plenty familiar with cold/snow and live in the beautiful Wi. Northwoods. I/we probably should have followed through on this idea sooner, Phoenix/suburbs, you cannot complain about the weather of their Winter season though their Summer is HotHotHot.
Florence AL still digging out from about 8"snow and ice. Good to see some cars on the road. Its nice here today. Was going to get my elky out until i seen an 18 wheeler get off at a ramp and and have to make sharp turn. Huge slab of snow and ice slid off top of trailer!! It would have done some serious damage to a vehicle if it had hit.. Many thanks for pics
Hey Wicarnut loved going to Florence when I wintered down there. We were in Apache Junction and would go there just to tour the hardware store and have lunch at a Mexican place on the main drag on the southeast end of town. The store had a roadster p/u stake bed peddle car I wanted so bad, but never bought. I didn't know of a show there when I was wintering theree, 2008/2018. Thanks for the pics.
