I worked in a service station when I was 16 0r 17. One Sunday the owner left me by myself in the afternoon to close. I was broke and starving. Some guy brings his 50? 6cyl Chevy in . He said he just got it running but it wasn't running right. I set the timing, charged him 5 bucks. Locked up, walked about a half a block, bought myself a hamburger, fries etc. Came back, opened up again, ate my burger, gave the change to the station. Everyone was happy. That old Chevy was one that had the timing mark(s) on the flywheel.
Yea it was probably hell on the climb if you got behind a truck or a car towing a trailer...or a Volkswagen bus.
I bet he was rushing in to pick up a bottle of that great Gallo wine for sixty-three cents. Christian Brothers is on the top shelf, so what did that cost, maybe a buck and a quarter?
