Here is a couple of mine. I like the super stock Dodge pretty much as is but was going to see if I could do the Willy's over as a Stone Woods Cook car.
Picked up a couple cars someone had hand painted black and silver including the wheels and tires. Stripped them down and saw what the original colors were. The Manoil #708 Roadster and Dinky Maserati cleaned up nice, got fresh coats of paint and will make nice additions to my collection.
Good { last } Tuesday morning of 2020, and Happy New Year. I thought that I'd take a look back, and post a few of my old favorites. Hope ya find some new toys in 2021 ! Ron.....
I’m a little lazy today. So I’ll just post a picture from my phone. The grandkids and I built a H.A.M.B. gingerbread house for Christmas. Lol Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Saw a Hubley 59 Buick I wanted and also ended up with a few Tootsietoy, Matchbox and Midgetoy vehicles. Gave some a different paint job, and restored others to their original colors.
I picked up a small box of items through a craigslist free ad and this was in it. It stands just over 8 inches and has some heft to it. It's actually a bank. It's a neat item if you're into that sort of thing...I'm not.
Ray and Ed cool post. Ed. I like bird houses, and Ray I really love 59 Buick’s. So I’ll post them together. lol Ron..... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I love that '59 Buick, I've never run across one of those. Seeing your pics, I no longer regret redoing some of my Tootsie's forty years ago. I was getting them for 25 to 50 cents each, taking them to the wire brush on my bench grinder and giving some of them a fresh paint job.
(quick85) I am.lol Here’s a Pennzoil pump. Also I like your Tootesie toys . Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like the older stuff that was meant to be played with a little better. That's a Cool collection of older toys Ray. Here’s a couple old tin Buick’s to show the old toys compared to a diecast. But much better details on the diecast. View attachment 4939970 Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Here are some "old" diecast vehicles from the 1930's and a few slightly later models with a couple of rubber models thrown in for good measure.
Received my decals today to finally finish the vintage Marx Deluxe Hauler I restored. Need to keep searching for some more proper scale diecast or stamped steel cars to fit on my haulers.
Good Tuesday to ya! That's a Cool collection Ed. I'll bet each toy has a story. I been collecting, and playing with my toys ever since I was a kid. Yeah, some of us never grow up. Each toy has a {Story}. I like meeting the venders at toy shows. I really like hearing about a toy with a story. I don't think of myself as a real toy collector! I've never bought a toy on line. I'm afraid even to look! lol I'm not looking for every color, or how rare it may, or may not be. It doesn't have to be MIB. I don't think, what's the value going be someday? I really never planned on getting rid of it. They are just toys. Meant for fun, and to be played with. I have Hot Wheels that I bought new in 1968, and I've never stopped buying them since. I'd like to hear some of your stories. Are you a serious toy collector? Do you both buy and sell your toys? Where do you find them? At toy shows, swap meets, yard sells, or on line? Even at Wall-Mart? My biggest problem now, is space. My grandson said to me the other day. { Poppy when I get big like you. I want a bunch of toys too.} I told him when you get big like me. These will be yours. lol Ron........
