    Hello,

Some of my old photos from back in those early days of photography and car shows does well in our lineup and family history. It was a part of life for us to travel to those shows, talk to people about their builds, and perhaps set up a photo shoot day after the show(s). Our fledgling photo business was rolling along and it was certainly fun to shoot different hot rods and customs, as well as writing stories about the actual build or something that was special during the build itself. Most magazine articles had a catch or two to draw in the readers.

Over the years, those photos (now digital color slides) still play an important part of our daily lives. My home desktop computer and laptop have been the recipient of many of the leftover images that were found in various drawers and photo containers. In those early days, everything got thrown into old boxes and as the years rolled on, the boxes with lids for dust free environments.

It does not take very long to select a nice color photo as a digital image to put onto the computer’s main desktop screen. There are plenty of adjustments to make it into a screen saver, so if and when the laptop or desktop screen is idle, it reverts to the screen saver for some added color and history. In the early days of computing, 15 inch desktop monitors were the big thing. Then as more tech advancements came along, the screens got larger and the computers themselves get more powerful. The days of off the rack at Best Buy is no longer the thing to do as it becomes a new age hot rod, with the various custom things one can do to build up the necessary parts and accessories for the computer itself.

So now that the home computer or laptop is in session, bring out those old color slides and insert them as screen savers. Or for those with copying the images off of the internet, they become cannon fodder for the daily rotation portion of the screenshot program.

Here are some Kodak Ektachrome color slides converted to digital images for our home computers or my collection/usage on the powerful, 17 inch laptops. Images from old car shows during the early days of So Cal arena custom car/hot rod shows.

Home screen savers are real photos placed in a digital file of the computer. Some of the choices on screen savers are random photos taken from that file and placed on the screen. Those photos are selected, shown for a few seconds/or a minute, then the next one is automatically selected for display. The modern updated laptops and desktop programs have this feature. If you leave your computer/laptop on all day.

It is like watching all of your photographs you have taken over the years in one folder, being cast onto the large screen tv in a room, while the open laptop or desktop screen has another digital file with other family photos. It becomes a family photo album that randomly selects photos from a long line of personal history.

It is not a file of internet copied photos, but ones that have meaning from the past family gatherings or actions from the early days of your own family history.
