  2. Glad you and your wife are ok. Happy New Year. If I lived close to you, I would drive your machine to the winners circle .:)

  3. Glad to hear the negative test result. Good luck and stay safe.

My wife bought me a winch for our trailer yesterday. Will make loading much easier.
Going to Alabama on Tuesday to get the heads done.

A winch is really handy when something breaks, you don’t have to go find 6 guys to push in on the trailer.

I guess she tired of trying to guide me up on the trailer.

No she just gets tired of me bitching when she gets me too close to the rail.
I can be hard to to work for or with. Just a hard ass sometimes, but I am trying to mellow in my old age.

Getting loaded up to go to Alabama this morning to get the heads updated by Pro Maxx .
That's service from a cylinder head manufacturer . Bring them the heads and they sell you the parts cheaper than Summit by a lot and stop what they are doing to work a customer in to upgrade their heads. Then only charge a hundred bucks to break down the heads set the assembled height and reassemble the heads with titanium retainers while we wait. Pretty cool !

Built a cover for the fuel cell yesterday
Couldn't find a suit case to fit. So a metal cover will have to work

Got my heads back. Ended up needing to swap the valves for
.100 longer valves to get the assembled height without cutting the spring pockets deeper.
Will make a good deal on some almost new valves and springs.
PM me if you need some solid roller springs or some 2.08in. 1.60 ex valves. 20210105_170506.jpeg

Still waiting on the good old USPS to deliver my parts. Competition Products shipped them through the post office.
Had they used UPS or FEDEX the motor would be done.
Found a deal on a set of Moroso front tires. They listed for $155 each and I got them for $ 215 for the pair including shipping. Anybody need a set of 185-80 R 15 tires with about 3 miles on them ?
Make good tires for your street Gasser or anything that does not require a bias ply tire like the SEGA does.

My parts finally showed up this afternoon. Watched the tracking and it sat for 3 days before being forwarded. No wonder the post office is going broke.

Got the heads back on today. Checked the push rod length and got the rockets on.
Will bolt the intake on tomorrow and get it ready to go back in. 20210111_180909.jpeg 20210111_180920.jpeg

I had to really check for clearance on the retainers it is close but no rubbing . That's what a .680 lift cam will do in a SBF. I hope to save up enough to change to shaft rockers soon.
Will be ordering a stud girdle as soon as funds allow. I am concerned about rocker stud breakage or flex with my new valve springs as I now have 265 lbs. of seat pressure and 750 lbs. over the nose.

I am going to build some valve cover baffles before I bolt them on. With my vacuupan hooked up
I don't want to have oil sucked out into the collector's. 20210112_113657.jpeg

Since your wife is so involved with this project as well, does a high compression small block Ford with a nasty solid roller cam and open headers give her a woodet? Just kidding. Engine looks good can't wait to hear about its shak down run.

Do you have to paint the distributor cap black?
"SEGA requires red MSD caps get painted black. Go ahead and paint away."

It is not an MSD distributor. It is a Jegs brand knock off. It works with a MSD 6al box. The cap is not as red as it appears in the picture. It is actually more of a maroon and so far they haven't said anything about me needing to paint it.
If they say something then I will it's no big deal. The dist. actually works really good. I'm sure it is a Chinese made dist. Probably from Speedmaster , but it seems well made a has a nice advance curve that is adjustable or can be locked out. I like to have an advance so I don't have to get it spinning over before I turn on the ignition, it also keeps the plugs cleaner idling around the pits and on the return road.
Learned that from my round track days of loading up the plugs under caution with a locked advance.

Should be making noise by tomorrow. Then it's on the trailer and heading to Lloyd's place for some much needed beautification.
