Does any HAMB members know of a company that makes a trailer hitch receiver for the 1953 to 1956 Ford F100 pick up trucks?
https://www.etrailer.com/Heavy-Duty-Receiver-Hitch/Draw-Tite/41990.html I used something like this and made the rest. The frame on your truck should be 34 inches wide. I used a universal receiver hitch under my 63.
After figuring how much you want to drop down from the frame or if you want it to drop down at all it shouldn't be hard to find a hitch that will fit with little or minimal mods. Along with that you have to decide if you want to bolt it to the bottom of the frame rails, the sides of the frame rails or both.
I have a heavy duty iron bumper with diamond plate on the top and the bumper is drilled for my trailer ball
I have one from an early/mid 90's Ford F250 that the sides are removable. Just made some spacers to make it a little wider and it was a perfect match for the frame (had to drill 4 holes). Still have the hitch but sold the Panel truck.
