    foyt won, jones caught fire and DNF'd. same race with the nasty crash that killed eddie sachs and dave macdonald. race actually had to be stopped completely.

    Exactly! Nobody bought a T-Bird and whined about gas mileage. My parents drove 53 and 55 Lincolns and never said a word about it at $0.31/gal premium. I nearly bought a '56 T-Bird in 1960.
