Love the mild '53 Olds above. I've never seen the chrome extentions of a stock gravel shield. Kinda like an Olds version of BelAir Bloomers that were available in the aftermarket back in the day.

Also catching my attention is the little side trim extention. Except for the fancy Olds Fiesta convertible, I think all models did not have the short little piece from the belt line down to the body line near the top of the quarter panel.

I'm going to run Olds side trim on my 53 Buick Special. My paint break will be as on the above Olds. I plan to fill that little gap too. Same fill piece was on Gaylord '53 Olds. Any one know if this was an aftermarket (JCWhitney type) or custom made? Attached is another Olds custom, (not Gaylord's) that also has that little filler piece.

WOW! Oldsmobile makes a great looking Kustom. I've had a couple. The 1948 Sedanett is a favorite.

A friend's 47 Olds 'work in progress' convertible. Trying to plant some 'period custom' ideas as he works on it 131012687_384124169505195_86684952019848463_n.jpg
