Hi all I found my Winter project I bought a 32 châssis with 9" Ford rear axle and a dago drop I-beam on the front '42 Ford spindle with full '40 Ford brake 4 16" Ford 40 wheels Fiber glass roadster '32 body I have my 303 rocket with tri power intake and a 3 speed trans of corvette '58
For the front end i will want a braided frame look like "rolling Bones " But I don't know if i do a classic front end (leaf above I-beam ) or a suicide front end Anyone know what is the distance between the firewall and the I-beam on "rolling Bones" frame look like the '32 roadster 232 ?
From what I have seen they tend to use original Ford axles. The early beam axles are 50 1/2” and the ‘37 tube axles that they also prefer are 48 1/2 inches.
IMO... find out what your local rules are before you cut anything off the original frame... now is the time ! years ago a buddy's brother said when in France he couldn't legally change the tire size, front or rear... best of luck to you...
Hahaha !! I don't Make my choice with the law Legal or illégal, i does any one care Thanks for your caution
I see the article on rolling Bones châssis I know they use a 109,5 wheels base but I don't know where they position the front member compared the firewall
