I had one of those. Thought about chopping the top and sinking the rear window and trunklid between the quarter panels but chickened out and came to my senses.
Man! This is cool! I remember a guy would visit a hot rodder neighbor of mine with a pretty stock looking white one with aftermarket chrome wheels. It was such a neat car and sounded pretty wicked. This is an exciting project! It looks really solid from just the one pic.
Just don't break that rear window/backlight! Had a friend who had a 65 with a 273 and a 4 speed; he traded in on a damned C*lica, of all things. Lots of potential there. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Way back in 1970 +/- my cousin bought a 64 ‘Cuda. It was pretty clapped out already. 273 2-bbl, 3-speed car. I think it had 13” tires. Wasn’t long until the 273 blew up. He bought a 318 from a 62 Dodge. (Some of you know what’s wrong with this picture.) Neither he nor I knew at the time how different the 318 “A” was from the 273 “LA”. With a lot of work on motor mounts and the steering column, etc., he got the engine installed and the car drivable — but never got it back on the road. Eventually he sold it for junk.
Good choice on cars. I have owned this one 37 years now. Bought it when I was 20 and still enjoy driving it. I like that wherever I go, there's not much chance of seeing another one. Have fun and enjoy yours. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
