Hot Rods Stewart Warner 8k Tach Pin Designation " stumped"

    IMG_3753.JPG IMG_3754.JPG Any wire designation idea's on this old SW Tach..? I spoke to SW directly but too old to verify.. Also spoke to an old fella that's fixed them for 50 years and no luck there either...Insulators on a couple of pins... as far as I know it doesn't need an external control box.. Part # I believe is 960BF but it's super faded... any thoughts would be welcome.. thanks folks... d

    If no sender needed, one has to be to the distributor side of the coil, and the other most likely would be the power or hot, source. Here are a couple of pictures from similar post from Feb, 2020...the 960 series was no longer listed by 1968.

    no sender required, the isolated copper colored stud goes to the - side of the coil, the isolated silver colored stud goes to ign power (12v) with the key on. ground one of the other "mounting studs"

    Now that's slick.... seen it done with my Dodge distributor, not near as nice a machine as that Sun but you can really dial your curve... awesome thanks much! d

    Well I grew a pair today hooked the old tach up to my Dart .... gritted my teeth and touched the power post to 12 volts and it came to life... whooo I didn't buy a dud after all.... lol... win... ! Thanks again to the folks that took a minute reply... good job...much appreciated...
