Customs 16 " wheels to 15" hubcap adapter

    has anyone ever used these or seen them . will not fit on a 40 wheel or wide 5 not deep enough. looks like they may fit over the center to hold them on? maybe for a wire wheel? 1001201059.jpg 1001201059a.jpg 1001201059b.jpg 1001201059c.jpg maybe a wire or

    Ford F-250’s did this for a few years in the 70’s and used the 1955-6 car wheel disc on the adapters which I believe were used on the 16.5 rims. Top of the line “Lariat” at the time had them if you checked that box..

    Chevy pickups used them also. Never did figure out what years or part number.

  4. mid 80's chevy 3/4 ton trucks used 16"wheels with adapters to 15" caps. I've only seen a few sets tho.

    I had an 87 Suburban 3/4 ton with those on it. Very klugey.

    Some guys used a 16'' beauty ring as an adaptor for 15'' covers - it never really looked right.

    I thought these were old never thought of 70s 80s pickup trucks. looks like they would need a pretty wide wheel or a lot of offset

    The ones I've seen on the later trucks are not recessed.
