A 4 year project completion, which would have been a lot harder if not for the "this is how I did it" from the numerous threads over the years. The folks on this forum are absolutely the best when it comes to information of our hobby. While I am a recent new member, I have been lurking in the background for years. Almost all of the work done by me, except final paint and upholstery. Only the headlight rings left to install after alignment. Thanks again...
Completing a project is a great accomplishment. Now go and enjoy the fruits of your (and anyone that helped) labor. Good Job! Pat
Your car looks really good. I really appreciate the home built projects as that is the type most of us can afford. And you are smart to install the headlight rings after having an alignment done...LOL
Your car looks great. I bet you don't see many Mainlines at shows as most folk go for the upper range of models. Here in Australia we only got Customlines as 4 door sedans and the Mainline name was given to the coupe utility. Any details on your running gear? And what year is it as I can't pick the difference?
Yeah, Mainlines are a less seen than Customlines. The car came new with the only options being a heater and overdrive. Now it has a fairly healthy 302 with a 3 speed manual and an 8" rear out of a Maverick. It is a 53.
Very happy to hear that it has all Ford running gear. Was worried that it had the dreaded SBC swap. Can remember back in the early 60's a Canadian friend working at Ford Australia swapped a Y-block into his 53 Customline. Was not a simple swap at the time.
