When I bought mine in 2017 it was probably the best thing for appearance I could have done. I’ve liked them from the 60’s. I bought replacements from American for about $100 a piece; they offered exact copies for $500 a piece a little out of my league at the time. 4 original 15x6’s wasn’t going to even look. Recently I repainted the gray with “titanium” for a slightly different look.

Remember seeing a color pic of this one at one point - a bit out of place on such a big car - but got the point across ARE_1-970x1372.jpg

Respectfully these are not big & littles. They are the same size front and back. Maybe related to Torque Thrusts being Torque Thrust "D"s but not really Torque Thrusts.

For some folks yes. Not me though. Don't get me wrong, they do look good which is proven by their popularity. But in my eyes their copies of the the real thing and like belly buttons. Seems like everybody has'em. So they just don't turn my crank. I don't recall the original poster laying out any specifics other than Torque Thrusts. Torque Thrust "D"s from the allowable 1965 and earlier are different from Torque Thrusts and typical of '60s muscle machines and not so much Hot Rods. Torque Thrust II's also differ from Torque Thrusts and are clearly well after 1965 . Well down the evolutionary scale. thumbsup.gif hide.gif

Yeah I know they are different, but for this car and it's priorities the newer ones are close enough. It is not completely "traditional" in most senses but I really like the style of the 60s hot rods, so I'm just getting close. Most people don't know American Racing from Cragars. At least they aren't the fake spindle mounts! I am not a fan of the TT 2s. Proportions are all screwed up IMO.

This is the general discussion category not the "died in the wool" traditional category.
I'm betting a very large number of HAMB'rs pay no mind to the 1965 cutoff when it comes to the manufacture date of American FIVE SPOKE wheels.
