Technical Electronic Ignition/coil question.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Al T, Aug 30, 2020.

  1. I’ve got an OT car that I’m doing a restoration on. I picked up a stock tach drive distributor for it with an electronic ignition installed. Does anyone recognize this ignition module?
I’m just wondering if I can use a conventional internal ballast coil with

  3. If you’re talking about the rotor, I’m assuming that’s how the rotor connects to the “plate” that signals the ignition module?

I'm thinking the machine screws and nuts are there for clearance for the module. I'm thinking that that black disk below the weights may be a shield of some sort.

Lot #31 AJ-NV5M leads to pages showing Pertrionix items with similar numbers that may be their old numbering system.

There was a Delco transistor ignition for that year of Corvette though. The K66 option but the pickup coil would probably take up that space

  5. Thanks. Never thought to Google the sticker. D’oh! Now just need to find out if an original type internal resistor coil will work.

First generation Pertronix, very reliable for the most part!
