Hey guys, I cant remember if I saw it here or not but has anybody recently seen an article or posting on converting El Camino doors into a hardtop configuration? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I cant remember if I saw it here or not but does anybody remember seeing a recent article or post about converting a 59 el camino into a hardtop using what I believe was a hardtop or convertible windshield frame and doors? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Loudbang, Thanks for the reply but that was years ago. the post I'm looking for the guy I think had maybe 3 59s, an el camino, and maybe 2 badly rusted convertibles and used parts from all three to make an extremley subtle el camino hardtop. Anyone else?

Hey brEad, I wish I could unfortunately I am totally computer illiterate particularly on the HAMB. I just googled 59 El Camino hardtop and scrolled down aways and there it was. Unfortunately again this wasn't totally what I was looking for. The HAMB posting only tells 1/2 of the story, using a convertible windshield and frame and htp/conv doors to get a 2" factory chop. A modified hardtop roof is then required to receive the modified htp/conv door glass. If I can find the rest I'll try to post it. I've got a line on a solid EC to do this to and that will give me an opportunity to use my 3x2 348 and Muncie 4 spd.
