Some time back Mike and Frank bought a unique little rear engined race car powered by a motorcycle engine. I am thinking it was an Indian engine. Last Sunday I was googling old Ford stuff and remembered then googled a car movie from the mid fifties that I watched as a kid. It was called "Drive a crooked Road" Mickey Rooney was the main character. In the beginning, there was that race/sports car with a couple of mechanics working on it. By the way, that was a cool looking flathead mickey put into that 40 ford. Regards Rich
Can anyone google the movie and post the picture under images. I am a total technofob when it comes to posting pictures Rich
The little indian powered car is at the wheels through time museum, there is a really good video of it on their facebook page
Here is the trailer for the movie, a fun one ! https://www.imdb.com/video/vi114409241?playlistId=tt0046935&ref_=tt_ov_vi
The car in question, that Mike and Frank bought, was purchased from Dave Giesler who is the half owner of the Pioneer Auto Museum out in Murdo South Dakota.
Finally found where this post was moved to. Looks like it started out with a v twin and now has a 4 cyl indian. Rich
About your observation of the 'cool looking engine' the Mick was installing in the '40 Ford: The producers of the movie wanted some authenticity in the script, as well as the backdrops. Some help was hired, thru Hot Rod Magazine as 'advisors'. Not sure, but think it was Ray Brock and Don Francisco. The engine they used was an Edelbrock Race Engine, available from Edelbrock then. Vic Edelbrock had them in stock, dressed to order. They were pre-run, ready to go!
After seeing the trailer, I want to see that movie. It looks like it would be better than the junk that's on now! Also, I really liked Mickey Rooney in "The Big Wheel".
