So I have an edelbrock tunnel ram and would like to run the holley carbs inline. Trouble is the intake isn't drilled for that. It's drilled to mount the carbs sideways. I thought about using a carb spacer as a guide and using my drill press. But the holes ALMOST touch, and I'm afraid of the trouble that may ensue. Any thoughts?

Already Have the tunnel ram and carbs. AND linkage. Just need to bolt the carbs on straight.

The sideways mounted carbs DO LOOK trick!! Works better too (for that particular intake). Why change it?!

Just buy the correct linkage and mount the carburetors sideways..!
Do you even know...if...the carburetors will fit inline on that manifold ?

Mike has a very good question...what carbs are you going to use and have you checked them to see if they will fit inline?
I have a old Weiand tunnel ram that used to run and it is drilled so that the carbs will mount either way...but it depends on the carbs.
When I first ran this manifold it had 2 Holley 600 single feed auto chock carbs inline on it ...fit fine and worked great.
This time around , new car ..new engine , I'm planing on a pair of duel feed double pumpers ...they will not fit inline so they will have to be mounted sideways...no problem..mines aready drilled.
Check your fit before you drill. 20200727_230317.jpeg 20200727_230331.jpeg

The same way GM 7.5" 10-bolt rears, HEI distributors, 700R4, 200-4R, and AOD and S-10 T-5 transmissions, 351Windsor and Cleveland motors, 429/460 Ford BB do.

Crap...I was just giving the OP some input on his question from my experience with the kind of stuff that he's dealing with...sorry for trying to help a guy out.
I thought that's what Hot Rodders Traditionally did.
