ok fellas, what we have here is a 49 ford coupe with a flathead v8. We bought the sanderson FH1 headers designed for a flathead in this chassis. The headers will not clear the starter. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it?

Stock starter or a mini hi torque?

    from So. Cal.

    Stock starter?
Because I am using the Speedway c-4 trans adapter kit, I use a starter for a Mustang.
I am also using Sanderson FH1 headers but watch out for the dipstick.

The dipstick fits great! Car still has the 3 speed/od trans. And no the stock starter does not clear

I was thinking you could go with the mini hi torque version for whatever bell housing your running?

Stock bell too. We ended up ordering a mini hi torque starter for it. Hope it fits
