Hot Rods Bendix Brakes

What was the first year they used bendix brakes on f100 trucks? I have a guy that has a set off a 51 f100. To early to fit 40 spindles?

 

49-52 is the F-1 brake. F-100's didn't begin til 1953. Your friend is mixed up.

But, if it's a real 1951 F-1 brake it should fit the '40 spindle with some clearance grinding on the top flange and the correct bearing swap.
