Congrats! Looks like a very conservative chop and in great condition. Not really a channeling guy, so I would probably go back to stock or far less channel, but whatever you do you can't go wrong.

  9. I love my F250, of all my trucks it’s one of mine (and wife’s) favorites. Always ready to work. It’s also amazing how valuable these old wood haulers have become. It’s OT, so just focus on what’s in the bed

Looks solid and I’ll agree with others the chop looks right.

  13. I am sure it's a local care because it's been here longer than anywhere else. I am pretty sure the frame and firewall are not the ones to the car. The car was pale yellow and now black. It has odd tail light holes, and aside from the chop that's the only real ID things. I plan to just build a hotrod with it, I am not super worried about what it was, as there is not enough there to really matter. The guy did tell me Grandpa said it is the American Graffiti car tho :D

  14. Not sure on plans. Not going to be channeled, that's for sure. I need to get a subframe in it and go from there. I am stoked it has all the garnish, glass, doors open and close...Stable again and on a frame and its dang near a car. I do have a rebuilt 57 283 with power pack heads and lots of speed goodies I may use? Time will tell. Beings the car is just nice enough to kind of use as-is, would be neat to try and build a budget 5W? Use what I have kind of a deal.

  15. No idea. Crazy how that works

  16. No video. We loaded the frame first and then hoisted the body on top of the frame. I should have driven something shorter... Made a second trip for the axles and some other parts

I think it's about 3", but I will measure my brothers stock 32 and figure it out.

  18. Good gravy, you've got more luck than anybody I know!
That's my dream car, so if I QUIT looking for one, it will fall in my lap.
    Works for you.
    Congratulations

That's a pretty spectacular find. And I like the plan with the early 283 and budget/good enough type build, there's enough over-built cars already. And even though it doesn't have a known history or all of it's pieces, it'd be nice to preserve what is there without digging into it too far.

    I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous.

The closest thing I had to this remarkable find was the abandoned '32 Tudor body & frame back in '72. Owner had moved out of the rental house, told the landlord "Just get rid of it!" I asked, landlord asked: "Can you take this junk away? Free?" I said, "Yep."
Deuce sedan was chopped 5", but completely gutted. Frame was nice, no front crossmember...
I was thrilled, borrowed a friend's flatbed to bring it home. Ignorant (now ex) wife:
"Why are you bringing that junk home?"
Traded it for a '27 project.

What a score you lucky dog. If you get bored with it I have time to drive out from Nebraska and take it off your hands. I could stop on the way back and visit my daughter in Cornelius. Just a thought. HA,HA

If I saw this on the road...I'd probably wreck that nice truck (and whatever I was driving) trying to get you to stop, to see if I could buy it:eek:.
