Getting the 302 mocked up for a test fit in my '54 Ranch Wagon. Eliminated the p/s and smog pump. Running a Sanden compressor with an Alan Grove bracket and a modified stock alternator bracket and a 3G alternator. The original alternator and the 3G both have double groove pulleys as does the crank. Any reason to run 2 belts or should 1 be fine? Don't want to over think this. Thanks.

Does the alternator belt also run the AC?

  4. If you are also running air conditioning I would suggest the two belts. HRP

Thanks for the replies. No the a/c is on a separate single belt just like it was in the donor vehicle just on a different mount. So I think I'm good to go with the single alternator belt.
