We have all seen the vintage 1950's Indy 500 highlight movies and heard that one- of- a -kind NOVI engine rumble. Can that sound be reproduced on a vintage street car?
While we are on this subject, one of my "things" as my wife call them, is when a car starts up in a movie with an obvious wrong sound, like a Mopar starting to the sound of a flat head Ford for example. Then I get some shit for being a nit picker!!
That would probably be the way to get it right, some things just can't be duplicated. I remember that in my pre teens I would listen to the Indy 500 on the radio with my then stepfather and the sound of those cars over the radio was something in it's self.
I realize this doesn't help your question and it's not HAMB friendly, but have you seen that newer Mazda (not sure if it's Mazda or etc). You can select the exhaust sound and engine type you want over the radio, and the radio will "play" the sound you want with throttle input. Car companies and their gimmicks.
