hi, i have a blank, new lid that came with the wreck, can i assume the hole is centered in the stamped recess area, or is there more to the story. also, i know the inner hole is the shaft size, what is the hole size on the outside deck lid skin? also, i have none of the components, some searches tell me its model A latch parts, correct? also, need to cut the slot on the edge where the "hook" sticks thru. i suppose when i have the latch that location will be known, some pics and dimensions of an original set up would be great, thanks IMG_0657.JPG

I'd suggest assembling all the hardware (latch & handle parts) before cutting or drilling anything. "Assumptions" are often based on incomplete information and can result in a lot of extra work. Don't mean to lecture, but a lifetime of experience blah blah .......

it seems the only support arm being made is stainless steel. i would prefer plain steel. can anyone tell me why a model A support would not work? also, it seems no striker is made either, model A there too?

thanks, i know they are different, but how much different? i have model A's here to look at, and if i had a measurement i might make one either from an A or an old alternator bracket.

The model A trunk strike can be reprofiled to work. They use to sell these as 33/34

thanks elvis, that was my plan to use. i am more curious about the length and bolt hole locations for the 34 support arm. i need to put nut certs into the lid, and i wonder if the spacing is the same for the two bolts that mount the arm between an A and a model 40. i have an A here to measure, if they are the same spacing it could be switched to original when i find one. thanks

here's what i need. the model A in my photo shows the bolt locations to be 1 1/4" oc, is the model 40 the same? the length of that arm is 9" not including the mount bracket, arm only, whats the length of a model 40? thanks. IMG_0668.JPG IMG_0667.JPG
