Art & Inspiration Spotlite magazine early 60's Barris

There were a series of customizing magazines in the early 1960's put out by Hot Rod that were for specialized areas of modifying your car. I believe they were a spotlite series that were produced with George Barris (pic below is one). My question is were all the "how to" articles featured in the magazine just cars that were worked on by George Barris or were they what George and Hot Rod deemed noteworthy?

 

I suspect (but don't have the old issues to look up) that these were reprints of Hot Rod magazine articles.

 

They were cars deemed noteworthy. Some made the cut to magazines and others didn`t.
