What is this front straight axle from?

    Any ideas, more pictures needed, etc. let me know, anything appreciated.
    Here's what I know. Grandad bought farm in 1939, he and my Dad (both rip) built house there I grew up in 10 years later. Grandad made this trailer I believe in the 40s, front axle came from a junkyard.
    Dad had new tires put on in 70s, old ones had red rubber inner tubes. 7.50 x 16s.
    I never asked what it came out of, now curious. I still use it. It's hauled everything.

    its a 37-38 chevy wheel, the axle could be chev too, many years are similar.

    I'm thinking Chevy too due to the six lug wheels they used for many years.

    The brakes are mechanical so no later than early ‘36, Chevy went to hydraulic brakes mid year ‘36. The axle, spindles and springs are ‘36 and earlier.
