You might try Antique Chevrolet, 1-866-767-2787 or The Filling Station, 1-800-841-6622.

  4. the other option is to knock all the left hand studs out and replace with right hand ones so they all match.

  5. That 's a lot of work my friend...

why would a 38 chevy have left hand nuts on it? They didn't come that way, did they? Or is it some weird Canadian thing?

First, did you measure the outside diameter of the stud? and did you measure the thread pitch? And you looked at the threads, and you can see they are left hand?

If you do all that, then you should be able to find nuts for it.

Other GMs in the old days, as well as Mopars, had left hand threads on the wheel studs or bolts. But I never saw them on a chevy. Interesting.

  9. I have the nuts but all rusted to hell. Would like to find new ones. Drivers side only front and back.

  10. I'm with Squirrel, never seen or heard of left hand lug nuts on a 38 Chevy. Seems kind of odd that Canada would have, and be different than US production.
My limited experience with left hand lug nuts and wheel studs, there is usually a marking like an "L" on the stud to help identify as a left hand thread. Or on the lug nut, it has lines parallel to the face on the flats. All to help identify as left hand threads.

I was suggesting you measure the studs, not the nuts.

  12. Yes it has L on the studs....

  13. A guess that is what I'll have to do. Was hoping.

Pretty sure all US GM cars had LH threads on the drivers side thru 1963. Switched to all RH in 64.

Most lug nut/stud thread are 7/16, 1/2 or 9/16s fine thread , right or left hand. These are available at ,most automotive stores. Some may have to be ordered. These six sizes cover most, car and light truck, for most years. I bet yours is a 7/16 left hand thread.

What??????? Poncho u must not have any old Chevys.... even my 62 were all rights let alone all the thousands I took off changing tires at Sears in the 60’s..

  22. I had a 53 Chrysler and I used jag 94 ad older threaded wheel studs both for the left and right side.

right side threaded in no prop

left side I just cut new threads over the Right hand threads and then welded the back of the stud into the drum.

cheap , easy and now everything was left hand thread find thread just like an old ford or Lincoln.

took about 2 hours with a few beers.

As was mentioned, if the studs are original they should have an "L" stamped on the end of them.

The reason they are rusty, because nobody could figure how to get them off.

No left hand threads on chevys that I know of...I've owned 1928, 39, 50, 55, 58, 61, 63, 66, 71, and some later ones. But Pontiac had them for a while. And since Pontiac and Chevy intermingled up north in Canada, I would not be surprised that it's a Canada thing.

is it 5 or 6 lug?

Hmmn, all the LH nuts I've seen were on the pass side of Dodges and Semi's, odd (to me) you have hem on the drivers side
