Hot Rods 40 trunk handle on 39 coupe

Hi has anyone replaced their Ford 39 trunk handle with the 40 one? Did it fit easy, is it a better unit?

 

Bolt pattern is different between the two handles, so they won't inter-change. I've had both, the '39 handle is stronger.

Yes the 39 handle is stronger but uglier than a man's butt. Later Bill

 

The 39 looks just like the flush handle on my toilet! I used a 37, had to file a notch for the lock, but the inner panel had the notch, just had to open up the outer panel with a square file to match.
