Technical Full Floating Rod Bearings

Weelllll, I'm not going to insult anybody hopefully and won't get my tighty whiteys in a knot but didn't the full floating rod " bearings" to most of us start with the 24 stud engines?...I have a 1940 or so vintage BAA I believe is its designation with full floaters on the rod journals of the crank.....

The full floaters began with the first loose insert bearings on a flathead, in later 36. Known as LB blocks. They were 21 stud.

 

Tell ya wife it's not really 10 inches...admit it...man up!

 

Such drama, I read all the posts and am totally confused so I have to stop. Hope you find an answer to your question.

Question??? how does the bearing get oil fed to both sides? With the crank providing oil to the ID/journal and escaping from bearing tolerences and side clearence, would the be pressure drop be too much to support the OD of the bearing oiling?

I had a '47 Ford with 59AB engine with full-floating rod bearings. I actually had a couple of bearings de-laminate, causing a rod knock. Drained oil, pieces of bearing came out with the oil. Tore down engine, crank was not hurt at all. New bearings, checked clearances, reassembled, engine ran great.
