Our Saturday matinee was 11 AM at the Brighton Theatre in Chicago, twenty-five cents to get in back then. I still remember seeing "The Shaggy Dog" there about 1960 or so. A teen somehow turns into a big dog and goes around driving a '27 T highboy with a flathead. I can still picture that car today. Never forgot Annette Funicello either
Sure was a bunch of us and parents would swap driving and picking us up. Parents were happy for an afternoon without us LOL. Stayed until about 5-6 pm watching two movies and cartoons between them AND had to come back next week to see how the movies ended because they stopped at"cliffhangers" to keep you hooked.
