What I find amazing and awesome is how you can look at these pictures and see cars that were still at the show last year. and even more that you recognize from some some piece of media produced that has come about from talented people on this site. Missing it this weekend, but looking forward to September.
From the get go, its incredible how many legendary cars were there. Jimmie Vaughan's Fleetline, Franco's Anderegg roadster clone, Lee Pratt's '40 Ford, Steve Wertheimer's Gary Howard built Caddy, Black Dahlia, and Brian Bass' shoebox to name a few.
We were at the first Round Up back in 2002 and, much like @Ryan, shot some black and white film that day. Our favorites ended up in our coverage in TRJ #21. We've returned to Austin religiously for the LSRU throughout the years, both as participants and as vendors. We can't wait to road trip back out there once everything clears up. In the meantime, here are some highlights from Round Up #1.
I was there for Round Up #1. I can even see what I think is my old 38 Chevy in your main pic, to the left of those two umbrellas. I either did not take any pictures, or can't find them. It sure was a good time, and being at the old high school on the football field! Sure has changed over the years. Even back then, remember Congress Rd being jammed up around the Continental Club with all the cars parked and some cruising up and down the street.
