@rudestude....these are perfect photos! Exactly what I needed. Altered or dragster, would be probably the same injector setup. I realize now the BV is giving me trouble. There's just not enough room on a 1:25 model to do one exactly as a replica.

    I made a new one today, it's just a tad narrower, and somewhat lower too, which is a good thing. I'm using the new one, here shown on the left;

    -IMG_2997.jpg -IMG_2998.jpg

    Here on top,

    -IMG_3000.jpg -IMG_3001.jpg

I use 0.5mm fuel lines, theses tubes have an inside diameter of 0.5mm, so a perfect fit. even the tubes touching on the sides, still too big. I'll paint it black and stuff the silly thing with fuel lines, probably won't see it anyway.

Small scale has limitations, I just met one.

@rudestude....I'd like to kindly ask for several shots of the junior fueler you showed earlier. Was this your car?

    Thanks in advance, Mike..

Wow. That work is incredible. Check out the Glory that is the Hemi thread on here for some great detail shots of vintage injected setups etc. The big block thread is also a good option for future builds and pics along with the Hot Rod Corvette and Gasser Corvette threads. Keep posting, that stuff is impressive.

This is the only picture I have left of my old rail..it was black with candy blue , marroon/purple, graphics all aluminium body panels it was a nice car ...I never run it , engines where torn down and it needed several things to get it up to date , tires, chute, roll bar , a reverse for the 2 spd lenco trans ...I traded it off for something else...right out of high school I just wanted to be the first kid on the block with a dragster....I was.
When I got the car it was in a garage with this car...built by Byron Barnes, I wish I would of got some history and more info about it but at the time it was just another car for my collection this was about 1981-82.
The Barnes car is now restored. 20200329_085849.jpeg 20200329_091047.jpeg 20200329_091108.jpeg

I hope I am not overloading your thread by posting all this stuff. I have been going through some of my old magazines looking for some info for my project and if I see something that I think you could use I post it.
I realize some of them are not exactly what you are doing but I just thought you would like them.
    Anyways this next bunch has some valves and linkage and other parts I thought may help with your detailing...and some of the shots are just cool. 20200329_144226.jpeg 20200329_144059.jpeg 20200329_140614(0).jpeg 20200329_140601.jpeg 20200329_140414.jpeg 20200329_140237.jpeg 20200329_142217.jpeg 20200329_134932.jpeg 20200329_135139(0).jpeg 20200329_135602.jpeg 20200329_135252(0).jpeg 20200329_135321.jpeg 20200329_142645.jpeg 20200329_135048.jpeg 20200329_135313.jpeg 20200329_135830.jpeg 20200329_140010.jpeg 20200329_140114.jpeg 20200329_135612(0).jpeg 20200329_135739.jpeg 20200329_135727.jpeg 20200329_135717.jpeg 20200329_135916(0).jpeg

Ok...I was actually starting to think that the only one I was entertaining was myself....I guess it was just nice to have kind of a purpose.
Haven't been able to get much done on the hotrod projects lately...bad weather, can't get parts, can't travel to go get needed parts, due to the crap thats going around...
Anyways it was fun...hopefully there's something out of all that he can use...he has an amazing talent,
Well I will just go back to entertaining myself the old fashioned way.....don't worry I won't post any pictures of that.....ha ha..and I will wash my hands.
    Everyone stay safe....
    Thanks.

@rudestude, this was about the single best series of photos I've ever seen. Each and every photo has an item to be studied, and needed for the scale modeler. IT's more than putting a plastic model kit together, we want the Hemi for instance to have the correct scale, none of these plastic model kits have a correct scale. Also the length of the chassis and width....these are all factors.

For instance, you show a closeup of a blown Hemi up close, the turquoise motor in an Altered car, well I've never seen the electrics on a race Hemi so clearly. Coming from the cockpit kill switch, where the line runs along the chassis and then to the magneto. Never seen this before! each and every photo has stuff I can use....I do believe I'll be visiting these pages for a long time to come!

Also the manifold photos of the injected motors....excellent. So good in fact, I've changed the BV even once more....now it's right! I can use it now.

I do appreciate this info, which is exactly why I chose to make this topic, to ask for help. You delivered. Now how good is this!

    Thank you very much Mike.
I am glad you can use the info...I know that you are into the detail and scale so that is why I tried to include the close up shots of the mechanical parts even though some of them are not what you were wanting really but pparts are usually close overall between applications.
And some of the shots are just damn cool...
You are doing some amazing work with your cars...I would like to see more.
I found some more stuff for you, I have posted some of it , tried to find more close up build shots, I have more that I haven't got too yet and if you started doing any builds of earlier dragsters , I do have quite a bit of late 50's to early 60's stuff.
I don't mind sharing this with you and if you preferred you could PM me and I could give you my info , number, and I could just send stuff directly to you then in the future if you needed any shots for other builds I have no problem helping you out....justlet me know what your doing and I could see what I can find.
    Thanks again Mike...

Sorry to the others for posting more info...
Hang on it will be over soon..

@rudestude, I believe to have this all figured out now. Among the photos shown above, a couple of closeups show exactly how I need to make the fuel pump at the cam, also how to hook up the top and bottom of the pump. It's all there, main fuel line from tank to fuel pump, then on to the BV on the manifold, also the return line and where it attaches to the fuel pump and on back to the tank. just excellent, many thanks again...superb.

    Just for an example of what a scale model means, I have a chart and diagrams showing the width, length and height of all Hemi motors. For my last Top Fuel car, The Old Master, since I have original chassis plans, I needed to know the exact width of the 392. So, from outside edge to outside edge, this would be 29". 29" in scale 1:25, this then in metric, comes out to 29.464mm. The motor I used was way out of scale, so I went to work. Added were double gaskets from brass sheet at the head/block, and a thicker valve cover gasket. This pushed the heads out further to a correct scale. I needed 29.46mm, I got this;

    -IMG_2421.jpg

This is the stuff I like to do. The motor for this car is entirely out of a nickel alloy, and has a nice heft to it. I'm just nuts about this stuff....

Update: New photos coming up soon.

I'm really excited now, after many days of trying to figure out this stack injection deal, real close now.

Fuel pump is done, I like it, it's acceptable.

Manifold is done and bolted down, with brand new BV in the middle, this one rocks!

Right now the individual injectors are being installed at the intake ports, and I'm smiling from ear to ear.

@rudestude, many thanks again for your photos. New photos from this little Hemi soon.

I just had to show this one...sneak peek; -IMG_3003.jpg

Days on end trying to figure out how to do a tiny scale stack injection setup that looks close to real.

The short flared stacks going on top are already finished, They look good.

The holes for the intake ports are drilled out and I've figured out a new method to get the small tubes lined up properly.

I'm real excited about this now that things are figured out. More soon over the Easter weekend.

This might not mean much coming from a guy that can't even glue a plastic model together worth a sh*t,
but dang your stuff rocks. Thanks for sharing and keep the photos coming. IMHO.

Well this statement is about as humbling as it gets, my opinion. I'm just a metal type guy, been doing small scale stuff for a living since my Air Force days, where I learned how to handle metal....no plastic stuff there guys. I don't like plastic either. The modeling of small cars in metal came upon me just a few years ago.

Retired now, but one thing, looking back....I do wish to have built a simple hotrod, a small V8 motor would've been perfect, just the old body in old original metal. Well, whatever the motor, multiple carbs would've been a priority. Then I could've said it's a hotrod.

    Thank you @51504bat, much appreciated.

Your models are beautiful, love the handcrafted stuff. Always thought the Pete Jackson injectors are about the prettiest ever.

    Stack injection update:

These cars are a wonderful and simple design. Tried and proven, I like 60's stuff.

Thanks to you guys, here the motor, newest photos.

Fuel lines are hardly visible, but correct scale. I'm leaving them blank metal. The magneto is for sure not early Gen 2 Hemi, but I don't want the old barrel style magneto on this motor. Simple car, but juicy motor is the goal. The right side is not as nicely aligned as the left though....I might redo.

Next up is the throttle linkage, and finishing up the magneto.

All in all, this manifold and induction will be more than 100 individual parts. The short flared, shiny aluminum stacks are already done. They'll go on as the last move.

    Thank you, much appreciated.

The motor is not very big, just over 1" wide and 1" long, front to back. The wheelbase of this car is a scale 150", so overall, front tire to chute out back will be about 7.5". A nice 1:25 scale build.

Simple car design, with a nicely appointed motor is my goal.

What a great source for information, plus just lots of good reads.

    Oh yes.

The motor is finished, just have to wait till the white paint dries on the zoomies. Plug wires attached, fuel lines from pump to manifold, magneto wired up, oil filter attached in an upright position (no room to the chassis rail, later on the filter was attached to the chassis rail). Slipped on the injector short stacks and plate for each side. Fuel linkage done, and again, even though I'm pushing 70....I can't wait for the friggin' paint to dry!

Chute mounted along with the push bar extension, I've decided to not do a full seat upholstery job. This is a bare bones small time dragster, not a big buck team. Tony Nancy didn't offer a reduced price for the masses for a full button and tucked interior.

With this, I'm not alone. Waiting hurts.

    Tomorrow the finished deal.

    Cheers. Mike..

The motor for this project is finally completed.

    -IMG_3021.jpg -IMG_3022.jpg -IMG_3023.jpg -IMG_3025.jpg -IMG_3026.jpg

This was a tedious build, but heck they all are, my goal is to get real metal on them and hook up the details.

The car is about finished too, the fuel lines to the tank and seat belts yet to do.

The paint hasn't quite dried on the zoomies. I'm real happy with the look.
