    Now this is interesting...
A week ago a thread warning of the dangers dealing with Ross Engines, six year wait, twelve grand, not the correct engine, no dyno info or tech sheet, etc. and now this. Intrigue to say the least!

Make sure he doesn't run it with the new headers on, as the chrome shop won't touch them! I was told the carbon fouls up their chemicals.

Here's the frame in it's early stages 5 years ago. Installed the third member, front brakes along with the wheels and tires to get a look. It required a few changes as things progressed but was a real good starting point. DSCN0610.JPG DSCN0618.JPG DSCN0622.JPG

I found a real nice running & driving 31 coupe here on the HAMB that was up in Ohio. The man that owned it was 92 and the second owner, the car was originally from here in Texas. I drove it around for a few months until I was able to find buyers for everything except the body and front axle. I sent the original axle to Joe's Speed Shop in Ok. to have it checked, drilled, and dropped 4 inches. After the frame was rolling we set the body on to get a look. Got a nice stance, but that welded frame angle bothers me. No gussets? Looks like it's just asking to crack open. I could be wrong. I was wrong once...

Your not wrong, that was one of the things I agreed to finish when I picked up the frame. I didn't spend the time documenting the build progress in the past as I'm going to do going forward so these first pictures are 5 years old showing how the build started. When the engine and transmission mounts were installed I also reinforced those areas with gussets or fish plates as some call them.

Our family has an electrical rebuilding business that had accumalated a lot of vintage parts over the last 47 years. In the last 10 years or so restoring old starters alternators and generators our vintage inventory has thinned considerbly. It took a little digging to gather the original cadillac NOS armature, rubber insulated field coils for a 45 amp generator. I've put the bearing grease cap in the front housing since this picture was taken. thumbnail_20180419_154122(0).jpg thumbnail_20180419_165329.jpg

I've about decided to have the headers and front axle ceramic coated to match. This picture was posted on a build thread by member m.ralph of his car, I like the look on his headers. 20190526_131220 - Copy.jpg

We installed the engine, transmission, driveshaft, steering column & guages (I'm not using the steering wheel, it's for mock up only)then did some measurements before removing the body to help line up the pedal assy. IMG_2405.JPG IMG_2921.JPG IMG_2923.JPG

Looks sharp. Is that a board track racer peeking out in the second picture from post #78?

Yes, it's a 1916 Indian board track racer. It's about finished, just the rear fender and fitting the controls. IMG_2963.JPG
