Hey dudes I was wondering if you can help me out. I am putting a 350 in my poncho and was wondering if I can use the stock rad. I was curious if it will hold the pressure of a 15 psi cap. If not can I get it recored to solve the problem? I really don't want to spend 600 bones for a rad.
was told years ago by a radiator guy the stock style like the tri five chevies couldn't hold that much pressure because of the way they were made.
I am running the original rad.in my 48 old's cooling a 350 old's motor with the 6cyc.rad. had it cleaned out and re soldered . make sure you have a fan shroud . We pull a camper to the mountains in September and no over heating. Sent from my VS987 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Just keep an eye open for cracks appearing, that's a lot of repeated flexing for the standard honeycomb type core. Mine had several cracks in the top tank and that's from the standard 7psi cap. Phil
