I have the same shifter as yours. One problem you may encounter is as you manually shift it all the time the aluminum lever hole gets worn out really quick. I had around 6 months of street duty and some drag events. The hole gets elongated and then your unable to get the shifter into reverse or 2-3 shift. I made another out of steel which should last a few years, I hope.

Your little Falcon is really going to be a handful.

It’s held up so far through this season, butin switching to a reverse pattern so that’ll be a whole new experience but I love this shifter so far

Just added a stabilizer to My Morris Minor gasser. Most of the southeast gassers are using the VW beetle stabilizer . It's cheap on Amazon. that's where I got mine . Quain Stott says that's where he gets them.
Just cut the bend part off and rethread the straight part and use a heim joint. DSCF3575.JPG

I was looking at using those but I ended up picking up an off-road one from a local speed shop just before they closed down, it was like 20-30 dollars, just needs to be installed

Waiting on some parts to finish up the fuel delivery to the carb.

Got my headers ceramic coated and installed, they look so much better now.

Got my transbrake button mounted, just drilled two holes in the shifter cover and mounted it there after trying to fab up different ways to mount it and couldn’t find something that either worked or that I liked and I didn’t want to spend $100 plus for a mounting system. Seems sturdy enough.

I wanted to put it somewhere that I could put my whole hand on top to push it down and that would be relatively close to the steering wheel.

So the driveline is back in the car, getting closer to firing this thing up!

Keep thinking the car is going to either blow the tires off or go straight up in the air, so yesterday we took a set of wheelie bars that Paul had made for the prefect that didn’t end up being needed and just held them up to the car to A see if they would fit and B see how it looked, they may be a bit short and narrow but we’ll see when the mounts get welded in.

Yeah, you'll need the wheelie bars with that engine!

I need that half cab Bronco in the background.

I can get you in contact with the owner if you’re serious about the bronco

Got a few small things done, finished up the fuel system and throttle bracket

Next up is putting in some engine bay bars which poses a question for you guys,

Has anyone ever heard of or seen engine bay bar kits? Either weld in or bolt in? Or does everyone just make them from scratch?

I build the bars myself but I have a tubing bender. You could use some conduit for a pattern then have someone bend them for you or order some pre-bent tubes.

We have a tube bender as well, just looking if there was anything simpler

The bending is the easy part for me, it's the fitting the ends that take most of the time.

Finally engine bars are in permanently in, distributor is in, valves are set, first fire is either next weekend or the weekend after, rushing to get it ready for world of wheels at the end of the month, and dyno next month and then racing begins

Well got the first fire today! Found a few small leaks, top of fuel pressure regulator and front timing cover has a tiny little casting issue or something that under pressure is letting water out.

Once those leaks are fixed, it’ll be ready for the dyno to see how much power it really puts down, I wish there was a way to upload videos on here

Your biggest challenge will be getting down the first 60 feet at the track. Iv'e said it before, it'll be a handful. :D

Yes it will be! Wheelie bars will be getting put on shortly and then we’ll have to play with the cal tracs and maybe even the shocks

For sure wheelie bars and a ballast box might be a good idea. Hope you get to run it this year.

Well today started off pretty normal, tidied up the engine bay a bit, wheelie bars came in so I painted some pieces just to make them stand out, and then things turned.

I was trying to take off some left over duct tape on the driver side quarter panel, well went a bit to far and saw the paint underneath the primer and got an idea...
So now I’m taking all the primer (or as much of it as I can) off the car and going to clear the patina that is underneath

  24. Interesting. Before you put clear on you should try polishing the paint to see if it’ll come back.

Yeah I was thinking about it, the blue that you see mostly isn’t the original colour, underneath that is the original teal but I have no idea what kind of shape it’s in and I don’t want to go to far

  28. I’d recommend not clearing it. I’ve seen guys do that and it looks horrible all shiny. Just let it be what it is. Just my opinion, but it’s your car.

Great build by the way! Very cool car.

I recommend paint or at least primer not half on half off paint. :)

Well, went on the dyno yesterday...

    Made 530 WHP, 660 CHP, not bad for a 9.5-1 motor with a c6.

Everything works the way it should, the tuner didn’t really have to mess with anything, just added two degrees of timing.

And then of course today when I’m going through the top end to double check rocker arm clearances, as I’m putting one of the spark plugs back in, I notice the threads are messed up, (i think they were before, just not bad enough to be noticed) so now I have to use a spark plug hole repair kit.
