I just picked up this 60 thunderbird and something is clearly missing in the steering linkage. Anyone have photos of there square bird linkage. Or something with a similar system or anyone know what part/s are missing I need to get this thing steering before I put a motor in. Thanks in advance. IMG_3770.JPG

    Thanks for the reply
That’s what I was afraid of. Any idea of anyone remaking these or ideas of converting to manual steering.

  8. Google going to be your friend on this. Yes there is control valves and rams out there for sale. Most places do require a CORE. And yes it can be converted to manual steering the pitman arm is different and center link. Also I think there is a place that has a Borgeson style box that replaces your gear box for power steering..
    Quick link from Jegs

Again GOOGLE going to be your friend on this and what route you choose...

  11. When it comes to T-Bird parts you should make contact with the Bird Nest in West Linn Oregon. Larry is a grate guy and knows his stuff. I've been buying parts from him off and on for over 30 years. He has New, Used as well as knows the good repro stuff. Add that to your Google search.

I know of a couple of places here in SoCal that do steering box and pumps etc. They know their stuff.. I’d find a rebuilder in your area and see what they have.. Maybe convert to a power steering box rather then the powers assist ram setup.
