History Chicago warehouse full of H.A.M.B. friendly cars

Why would someone go to all the trouble to collect such fine cars and then just leave them there sitting.
The way the cars are parked it does not look like they have been outside that building in years.
Wonder if anyone even starts them once in a while.

None of them look like anyone takes care of them even to simply put up the windows or cover them.
It's like history just rotting away slowly.
