It follows a crown Vic heritage. Came out the same year as the Nomad. Chevy never had a sedan or coupe to rival the crown Vic. I think it’s a neat should have been concept! Fantastic design, execution, and end product! My only wish is that I possessed the skills to build such a car!

  2. This has been a great thread to follow on really great car. I saw Spokane Speed and Custom show posted a pic of the car and that it will be at the show. Cant wait to see it in person at Spokane. We will be hauling Taboo up for that show as well.

This rendering doesn't do the car justice in my sight. This drawing makes the roof look too much like a Ford Falcon roof just slapped on it. It's too long. I scrolled on down to the finished product and it looks so much better. Just my 2 cents.

listen, I could not have been more complementary of this build and this car. I understand that Ford parts were used in this build, no one and I mean no one, if they are being honest with themselves, can not look at the styling of this car and not see the Chevrolet Nomad influence.

It's not about the parts, it is about the styling.

Wow, just wow. Thanks for sharing this build thread. Between the fab, fit and finish that is a beautiful machine. Well done!

You know what HotRod. I hadn't looked at it in that way. When I first really looked at it all I saw was Nomad in the roof. Now that you have brought that to my attention I see exactly what you are saying. The Crown Vic influence was not there until you mentioned it, now that is all I can see. Thanks for that man.

  9. Monday morning update. One of my absolute favorite parts of building cars is detailing an engine. We really where shooting for an experimental factory concept 50s show car vibe. Like Ford would've chromed a bunch of stuff & went over board with the details to show off there engine.

  18. This was a good day. Jon got the body & big black parts painted. He uses PPG.

  19. The guys cutting & buffing on the body while Jon sprayed the other colors & small parts. This car has a ton of parts.

I use Griot's products as well, but must be doing it wrong because my car never comes out looking like that.

    Looks amazing!

Paint looks as good as an old time Nitrocellulose Lacquer job.

  28. Wagon back at the shop for final assembly. This black car scared me to death but Jon kept assuring me it was no big deal. It was a tedious task installing the loads of trim this car has. Was by far the hardest car we've ever had to assemble.

    IMG_5385 (1).JPG IMG_5846.JPG
It also consumed a bunch of shop space.

  29. I absolutely LOVE black...on other peoples cars. Black can sure look great if all the prep work going into it was done right as is obviously the case with what all you guys did. I love the black on this car and every bit as much the blue choice on the wheels and other accents. It again just screams that it could have been built by Ford that way. The attention to every detail is over the top. Thanks again for sharing the build here!

Oh, and I have had a few black cars myself too some that I was the one that painted...but I am just too lazy the older I get to want to keep them clean which is the main reason I don't like them for myself now. ;)
