The belt line is just a bead roll, but I have done them
From a piece of 1” flat bar and the work out quite well.

Yea, I really like it. It’s a Renault color that I had just done in a 1965 Renault caravellle . I liked it so much that when this guy said I could
Pick the red for his coupe I ran with it.

Haha, until you see something at the swap that you can't stop thinking about!! Yeah, we've all been there.

I am looking for some unusual rims for the car, but with my budget they will have to be cheap.

  12. An idea.
Start with these old Lincoln wheels.
(Mopar had an almost identical wheel)

Loose the cap, treat them to your favorite look brushed, polished, faux magnesium Gibbs, he’ll paint them DOW 7 and Get you something like this out of them.

Make a center cap and add a spinner?

I Certainly don’t see them everywhere - unusual?? Maybe
I grabbed a very nice set of 4 with resealable caps for $200 by posting a want ad on Craigslist a few years ago.

Gotta watch some of those wheels are 5 on 5 bolt pattern on the lincolns. I had a se and had to redrill them.
I think Córdobas had them as well, but they had weird slots besides the bolts.

I'd have to dig it out and take a photo but I have what is supposed to be a skinny Thunderbird spare that has that same look that I would donate to the cause. If I can remember it tomorrow and get my old ass far enough in that shed I'll get a photo.
I am indeed going to have to look because after a search it may not have enough lug bolt holes. It came in a "here haul this stuff home" load of stuff 20 something years ago.

Any wheels like those would be great. My front is 5x4.5 and rear is 5x5.5 but I can change that if need be.

  17. Around what year Lincoln had those rims?

Like I said, I posted a want ad with photos on Craigslist. Spread out to surrounding areas and The wheels found me.
Facebook marketplace is taking over and probably a better venue now.

I could use a set of 5 on 5 if you find a hoard of them!

image.png I believe they were manufactured by Kelsey Hayes, and therefore found on both, the larger Ford & larger Mopar cars...

I've found more with the small slots ( like in this pic) that are under the stock hub cap/wheel center, than the plain ones!

If the search efforts and the extra holes a potential refinishing just kill the viability of $200 of poormanns 15”x6 lincobrand you’ve got easier and holefree options.
    They just cost more

I would entertain the idea of the wheels with "slots" on the front of my '36 and solids on the back. Apologies to OP Jim so consider it another bump!

  28. Well the wheels are certainly different. I really don't have any opinion on anything you do Jim, except for Wow! You always knock em outer the park, you always make things work.

I'm just happy you share your builds with us. Carry on Sir.

You can be sure if you use them nobody will have any like them and nobody will know what they are.

I've had some of these wheels in the past and every one had the slots like in Aboner's picture, never saw totally blank ones before. But honestly I kinda like the little kidney bean slots in them. Wish I had some to offer now. Found many in junkyards, always cheap. They're not super skinny or wide, I think they're all about 6.5" width.
