Technical Bucket seats in a Model A Coupe

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by blazedogs, Sep 24, 2014.

  1. I would look into some of the bucket seats from late model trucks that have built in shoulder harnesses (sorry I can't be more specific). Probably going to be too big but I sure like the idea of built in shoulder harnesses.

They are genuine 1928-1929 Ford and so are the window regulators.

Thread was revived yesterday by a newbie with similar issue, and has produced additional useful information.

I went with school bus seat, which is mentioned earlier in the thread. They are very easy to resize. But obviously not buckets. The Northern Tool seats posted by @Blues4U look like an interesting lowbuck solution. I'd be curious to see a pic of what they actually look like installed in a car. I've seen guys use similar boat seats with mixed results.

I just went out and lifted the tarp enough to crack open the door and snap a photo. Forgive the messiness. This is a 31 closed cab pickup. It is critical to get a seat that fits well in these pickups, you don't have any spare space to lose. These are actually the 3rd pair of seats I installed, and they fit the best. I used Speedway riser, cut down 2" in front and 3" in back to give it some tilt back.

Thanks for providing the picture, @Blues4U. That looks to be a pretty nice $200 solution.
