On Saturday, Jan 27, 1990, I and my brother Chris attended the Salute to the NHRA Winternationals car show put on by Lee McCullough and his Harvey's Cruise Nite gang in San Dimas. It was a great day out, one of the first cruises I attended in my 1956 Ford Club Sedan. Here's some pics of that day. At the end of the day, a caravan of cruisers headed down the 57 then the 60 to Fullerton Road/Harbor then to get to Don Steve's Chevrolet for another display (the last pic attached)...For some reason I can't find the envelope with the other pics of us at Don Steve's, it's around here somewhere. I noticed looking over these flyers that John Force was signing autographs. I wasn't an NHRA fan then, so I had no idea who he was and I probably paid no attention. Nowadays I'm a huge racing fan and follow NHRA and other series. Unfortunately I couldn't reinstall my scanner tonight, so I had to get out my digital camera and shoot pictures of the pictures. I recently cleared out my storage unit, and have been going through my boxes trying to throw some of my junk out. Thankfully recently I just found the flyer and schedule of events too. Enjoy!
Very cool...That looks like my old mans red 64 Savoy 426 max-wedge lightweight next to Moshers 63 Melrose Missle lightweight car.....Most likely there was a 63 Plymouth Sport Fury (black) next to that..I drove a white/red 65 Belvedere II but dont think I had it there if memory serves right..I was just 17! I enjoyed seeing the pics and spotting pops car! Thanks!
Thanks - so much of "new" history like this has been lost, like old school stuff did you get a picture with the beauty (not John Force) signing posters?
