Back in the day a friend of mine parents owned one of these old Packards. I remember we used to stand on the rear bumper and let the leveling system raise the bumper to put a rake on the car.

  2. I guess their competition was Lincoln at the time of the 1950's. Both were pretty posh and outfitted with a leveling system as well as loaded to the gills with creature comforts. I'd consider a '56-ish Packard one day.

Just a update on packard motor runs good all the electric shift works good even got the auto level to work waiting on water pump and fuel pump to come back. Radio works but tuner won't turn to our local oldies station.

An older couple showed up last Sunday morning at our "gathering" with a 56 Packard with an LS motor. Claimed it was a tow car that would tow anything.
