Picked up a 350 complete for free-should be a good core to rebuild. It is an 010 block but I can't find info on numbers on deck-suspect early 70's?. Thanks in advance for info.
There's nothing after the K04? There should be two more numbers, and three letters. 151... in the partial VIN says: 1 means it's from a Chevy car, 5 means 1975, 1 means Oshawa (or Wentzville).
Thank you Jim--no other numbers past the KO4 that I can see.Came out of a running car with a turbo 350 but just consider it a core. Has a sq bore holley on an iron intake and an early dist with points and the window. Been played with for sure.
wrong assembly plant for a vette or camaro. Which makes it even more mysterious, why it's a 010 block
From what I am finding the engine was assembled in St Catherines Onterio. Some sort of crate motor? or long block? Once you tear it apart and start changing parts all bets are off anyhow unless some casting plants were known for specific issues that may show up.
I never give those stamped numbers any free rent in my head. All I need to know is the bore size and if its a large or small journal block. I can feel the outside water jacket and tell if its a 400 small block.
The casting number is really all that matters on those. But some of us are curious....and have to know.
